The equation used by this calculator is:  C = ( Qo * R )(1/n) / R
It is easily derived from eqn 3 on the ZARC element page once you realize that T=RC.

The equation for the constant phase element assumed by this calculator is:

Z = 1 / [ Qo * ( j * omega )n ]
